The appointment itself is straightforward. You sit in a normal chair — no communal foot-bath row, everything is waterless. The specialist works with a sterile e-file: calluses come down in layers, nails get thinned and squared off properly, ingrown corners are cleaned and, if the shape needs correcting long-term, we fit a toenail brace instead of sending you to surgery. Tools arrive in sealed autoclave pouches, opened in front of you. It is closer to a dental hygienist visit than to anything with cucumber water.
